A large proportion of the underlying cost of payment processing is driven by external fees, such as fees from our credit card providers. Our partner banks and payment providers govern which fees apply to refunded payments, often fees are kept in entirety, therefore we cannot access them to provide our users with refunds in the case of cancelations. For some regions and payment types, refunded payments also incur additional fees.

Our standard fees include access to a variety of features such as fraud protection, reporting and other tools for managing your payments. To address these underlying payment processing costs and to continue providing these services as part of our standard pricing, we do not return our fees when a payment is refunded.
